Pam FraserI have been around sport all my life and am an avid photographer.  Having completed a degree in communications, became a sports administrator. I also enjoy coaching.  Recently I decided to follow my passion and join the freelance world, in photography and journalism.  My husband and I have three children and enjoy watching their sport, and travelling.

The final Pool C round of matches in the Canterbury Country rugby competition were played over the weekend. Saracens dropped their first points of the season finishing with a 24-24 draw with an improving Oxford side. Kaiapoi produced a 33-10 win over Hurunui, to join Saracens at the top of the table. The Northern Bulldogs handed out a mauling to the Papanui Tigers in the Canterbury rugby league premier grade. They finished off eleven tries to win 56-8, despite only leading 16-4 at halftime. When parkrunday falls on the 22nd (two-two) day in a month, most parkruns around New Zealand break out the TUTUs for some whacky fun! Nobody is sure where this phenomenon originated, however it is now a popular tradition here among the NZ events. The Rangiora division one men’s team picked up points in the weekend with a 1-1 draw with Harewood. Damien Allerby found the back of the goal for Rangiora.  Unfortunately, the women’s team couldn’t do the same going down 1-7 to Harewood. The Rangiora High School 1st XV made their way to Nelson to play Nelson College in the Miles Toyota Championship. College were too good for the North Canterbury boys, defeating them 75-0. The Kaiapoi women’s rugby team had a defeat in their grade too, going down 0-19 to HSOB.
