The Canterbury Country cricket one day final was held at Mainpower Oval over the weekend between Sefton and Darfield. The Kaiapoi High School girls softball team competed at the South Island Secondary Schools Softball tournament in Alexandra.  On day one they had solid wins over Riccarton High 11-2, and Dunstan High 7-2. They met a very strong Southland Girls team on day two, losing 1-19, but picked themselves up to defeat Ashburton College 14-0. Later in the afternoon they lost to Dunstan 6-12. The Canterbury single tracks Secondary Schools Championships were held last week Halswell Quarry. Rangiora High School came out as the top overall boys Canterbury secondary schools team.
