Pam FraserI have been around sport all my life and am an avid photographer.  Having completed a degree in communications, became a sports administrator. I also enjoy coaching.  Recently I decided to follow my passion and join the freelance world, in photography and journalism.  My husband and I have three children and enjoy watching their sport, and travelling.

New National Champion

North Canterbury has a new National Champion for 2020.  Fourteen year old Jess Hendren, won the National Under 18 High Jump title, at the NZ Athletics Championships, at Nga Puna Wai, over the weekend. Starting at 1.58m, Hendren didn’t miss a jump through to her winning mark of 1.74m.  Her closest rivals, Olivia Power, Claudia Knight and Jenna Johnston, all went out at 1.66m.  Hendren heads to Australia soon, to represent NZ Secondary Schools. Captivating Canterbury Futsalers Reach Final

Impressive haul for North Canterbury youth at Colgate Games

The North Canterbury Athletics Club had a team of 21 athletes competing at the South Island Colgate games from the 16th-19th January.  The new home of Canterbury athletics, Nga Puna Wai, hosted the 2020 games, which attracted close to 1000 under 14 athletes, from across the South Island, along with a few North Island participants, and a team of Queensland development athletes.
