I also enjoy coaching.  Recently I decided to follow my passion and join the freelance world, in photography and journalism.  My husband and I have three children and enjoy watching their sport, and travelling.

The penultimate round of the Canterbury Country one day competition was played on Saturday.  Sefton lost their place at the top of the table after losing to Cheviot at Cheviot Domain.  Cheviot batted first putting on 236/9 from their 45 overs. Both the Kaiapoi men’s and women’s premier softball teams were winless over the weekend. The Kings faced top of the table Papanui and went down 0-10. This means they finish in 5th place and miss out on the playoff this weekend. The Queens were defeated by Halswell in a closer game 1-4, but maintain their fourth place, and will play the PCU Angels in the 3rd/4th playoff, hoping to end the season a place higher. At ...

North Canterbury Junior athletes produced some good results at the Interclub event at Nga Puna Wai in the weekend, with only one weekend to go before Canterbury Champs.  Sienna Watson was first in 14 girls high jump and 3rd in 60m. The last of the semifinalists for the Canterbury Country T20 competition have been found, and three North Canterbury teams will compete for places in the final. Cheviot had already made it into the top two in Pool One, and will face Ohoka, who defeated Weedons in the weekend. Weedons, batting first, reached 118/9 off their 20 overs. The Dragons were defeated 0-2 at home to Team Wellington in the penultimate round of the ISPS Handa Premiership football competition.
