Hiss and a roar Hiss and a roar November 27, 2020 By Pam Fraser Sport Last weekend started with a hiss and a roar for the Kaiapoi Softball Club but they couldn’t maintain their momentum. On Friday night both the Kings and Queens played Halswell at Mizuno Ballpark, and both came away with close, but solid wins. The Kings defeated the Halswell Hornets in the Premier men’s grade 4-2, and Queens beat the Halswell Premier women 4-3. Southbrook showed some grit this weekend when sent in to bat by Weedons. They put on 138/10 from 43.3 overs, with Sam Bing scoring 27, and Matt Boyles 25.
