The Waimak Premier women’s team recorded their second win of the campaign with a 4-3 win over Halswell.  Jayda Stewart found the net twice, with Lucrettia Taylor, and Charlotte Roche bagging  one each. Shakedown Cross Country Shakedown Cross Country

Canterbury Athletics held their first cross country event since lockdown, the Shakedown Cross Country, at Ascot Park.  The North Canterbury Athletics club had six runners competing, and they all achieved top 10 finishes. The youngest was Alice Barnes, competing in the U14 girls 3.5km event, where she finished 4th.  The best finish went to Jo Ramsay, who won the W40 5km event. The Waimak United in-house football leagues started this weekend, on a brisk but sunny morning. The youngest Waimak United members have had to wait a while to get their seasons underway, but they did it with great enthusiasm. The basketball ball season tipped off in the weekend for a few grades. The Autosport Car Club held their first rally since lockdown in the weekend, at Mt Alexander, in Waikari.  This was a great opportunity for the rally enthusiasts to get their cars back out racing.  Mt Alexander Road is 4.5kms of undulating gravel road, with a hard base.
