Pam FraserI have been around sport all my life and am an avid photographer.  Having completed a degree in communications, became a sports administrator. I also enjoy coaching.  Recently I decided to follow my passion and join the freelance world, in photography and journalism.  My husband and I have three children and enjoy watching their sport, and travelling.

Kings and Queens win Kings and Queens win

Both the Kaiapoi Kings and Queens softball teams had wins over the weekend.  The men’s team hit in 8 runs against Halswell, to win 8-3.  This result gets them off the bottom of the table. This weekend they face the PCU Devils. Points: Papanui 41, PCU 30, Albion 26, Kaiapoi 18, Halswell 16. South Island Titles Claimed South Island Titles Claimed

North Canterbury BMX riders claimed two South Island titles, plus six other podium places, after the Championships were held on their home track over the weekend. The event was a credit to all of the volunteers who helped get the track ready, officiated, and looked after the competitors on race day. The Canterbury United Dragons have moved into 5th in the National Men’s Football League, after their hard-fought win over Eastern Suburbs. In her last year at the Colgate games, North Canterbury athlete Xanthe Jane, has been awarded a Nick Willis Scholarship. This follows a successful games in Nelson, where she won gold in the 14 girls 800m, silver in the 1500m, and bronze in the 400m and High Jump.  Her times in the 400m and 800m were new Pb’s too.
