All tied at the top

It is still all tied up at the top of the North Canterbury Division One Rugby competition, with both leaders Kaiapoi, and Glenmark Cheviot having good wins over the weekend.  Glenmark Cheviot dotted down six times, through Keane, Vincent, Harnett, Retallick, and McDuff, in their win 37-21 over Saracens. Kerr with two tries, and Goodwin one, for Saracens. Meanwhile Kaiapoi made light work of Woodend, winning 61-10. In the other matches Ashley defeated Hurunui 26-19, and Ohoka were beaten by Oxford, 25-34.

Points: Kaiapoi 25, Glenmark Cheviot 25, Oxford 20, Saracens 17, Ashley 14, Hurunui 11, Ohoka 9, Woodend 0.

In the women’s match, Kaiapoi were dispatched by High School Old Boys, 57-5.

The Rangiora High School 1st XV, had a strong win over Marlborough Boys, 27-14, in their first game at home. They now sit in a very congested 4th place on the table.

Points: St Andrews 29, Nelson College 26, Christs College 23, Rangiora HS 21, Shirley Boys HS 21, CBHS 21, St Bedes 19, Waimea 15, St Thomas 14, Timaru Boys 6, Marlborough Boys 6, Roncalli Aoraki 5, Ashburton College combined 4, Lincoln combined 4.

Midweek the Rangiora High School girls were defeated 10-71 by Lincoln High School.
