Battle to the end

The Rangiora division one men’s team went down 1-4 to a determined Marist side, at Marist Park in the weekend. Despite a few chances, they were unable to break the Marist defence more than once but battled to the end. The side can be reasonably happy with making the top five and certainly the competitive games each can only help their future progress.
The Rangiora division one women’s team had better luck when they turned the tables on Marist who had only recently defeated them 4-3. This time it was the North Canterbury teams turn to celebrate a 2-1 win.
The Hinemoa Kaiapoi Grass women had a 7-2 win over the Hornby Bobcats, and continue their unbeaten run to the title.

The Rangiora A men’s Platinum division two team continue to lead their competition too, with a 4-0 win over HSOB Burnside.  The B team were beaten by second placed Avon 0-8. In the women’s Platinum division two grade Rangiora A went down to HSOB Burnside 1-3, but Hinemoa Kaiapoi Miro had a win over Marist 3-1. In division three Rangiora B had a dominant win over Harewood Green 4-0, and Hinemoa Kaiapoi Tawa drew 2-2 with Harewood Gold.

It was all action in the midweek men’s division two competition, when the Hinemoa Kaiapoi Kauri team picked up an enthralling win 5-4 over Southern. The Rangiora side went down 1-2 to Harewood Red.
In the women’s midweek match, the division one Hinemoa Kaiapoi Rata lost 1-5 to Carlton Redcliffs. In division two Hinemoa Kaiapoi Totara lost 1-4, and Rangiora Hurunui drew 2-2 with Hornby.
