9 April Boat Ramps Closed April 9, 2020 By Waimakariri District Council Community, Life Style, Local Government Waimakariri District Council will be taping off all their boat ramps in the District. They will remain closed throughout Alert Level 4 and is in line with advice from the government that people should avoid water activities like boating, swimming or surfing while in lockdown. “As tempting as it might be to hitch the boat up to the car and take your bubble out on the water this isn’t a good idea. We need people to stay close to home, exercise safely and follow government guidelines,” says Greenspace Manager Grant MacLeod.
