Mixed Bag of Football

The Waimak Premier women’s team recorded their second win of the campaign with a 4-3 win over Halswell.  Jayda Stewart found the net twice, with Lucrettia Taylor, and Charlotte Roche bagging  one each. The results puts them second equal on the table. The reserve team had the bye this round.

Unfortunately for the CCL men’s team, they had another loss. Halswell scored first, but the local lads equalised through Floyd Duffy. However, Halswell finished the stronger of the two sides in the second half, and knocked in two further goals to win 3-1.  The CCL Reserves had their first loss 1-2 to Halswell.

In the youth development leagues, the 15 boys were defeated 4-6 by Christchurch United, the 14 boys went down 3-4 to Nomads, whilst the 13 boys defeated Nomads 3-1.  The 18 girls drew 2-2 with Ferrymead Bays, and the 14 girls defeated Cashmere Technical 9-0.
