Pegasus parkrun #224 run report

Here we go with this writer’s final report of 2020!

Firstly an apology - to Gabrielle Gray, who picked up a PB yesterday & ran herself into 2nd place (yep I reported that) but she also picked up the SW20-24 Age Group Record at Pegasus in doing so - Congratulations Gabrielle!

So, on to Boxing Day parkrun at Pegasus, a total of 51 parkrunners came out today, 18 of whom were backing up from Christmas Day as were 5 of our Volunteers. We had one brand new parkrunner today, welcome to a whole new way of running - Callum Simpson! We also had a first time visitor, the very experienced Sarah Jantscher (Lower Hutt parkrun) joined us today, welcome and we look forward to seeing you both again. Returning to Pegasus from Hagley parkrun were Joshua Smith and Steve Jelley, while Glenn Burnnand from Barry Curtis parkrun ran here again today too.

Two of our parkrunners achieved their 50 Milestones today, congratulations to Nathan Bailey and Jacob La Valley - I can almost see the red shirts flying out here already!
PB’s were run by two also - for such great runs, congratulations also to Libby Hurley and Nathan Bailey. Nathan took a minute off his PB! Good job!

Running themselves onto the non existent gender podiums today were : Alex Witt, John Marshall and Gary Devlin & Haven Drinnan, Angela Doig and Natasha Mitchell - great efforts by all of you.

Huge thanks to our On Course Volunteers today Debbie Wilson, John Kerrison, Lynley Devon, Kath Atkin, Louise Sissons and Tania Bailey and also to the Behind the Scenes Volunteers also, Jackie Hancock, Joseph Hansen, Chris van der Leer, Trudy Diggs and the paperback writer (Geoff!).

Don't forget! Pegasus parkrun on New Years day (Friday, 1-January 2021) will start at 8am. The first timers briefing will be at 7:50am, followed by the run briefing at 7:55am.

We will having a parkrun on Saturday, 2-January 2021 at 8am as usual.

If you are not in the region over New Years a number of other New Zealand parkruns are also hosting special events on New Years day.  Do bear in mind that only one result may be recorded on each special day.

Happy Holidays everyone - enjoy your upcoming 2021 parkruns beginning this coming Friday!
Geoff M!
