A small group of North Canterbury Cross Country runners competed in the Andrew Reese Memorial race at Ascot Green in the weekend. Following on from her win in the first race of the season, Jo Ramsay found the top of the podium again, winning the W40 5km event in a time of 21:57. Not far off a podium win was Alice Barnes, who finished 2 nd in the girls U14 3.5 km event, and John Marshall was 3 rd in the M50 5km event. Haven Drinnan had another solid run in the u18 women’s 5km, finishing 5 th . Nathan Neale was 6 th in the U20 men’s 5km. James Trimboy and John Reidie had good runs in their first events of the season, in the U12 and U14 boy’s events. NZ Olympian, and former North Canterbury athlete, Angie Petty, won the senior women’s race in a time of 18:43.
