Rangiora High win again

The Rangiora High School 1st XV had another dominant display in the UC Championship, this time over Nelson College, winning 25-7. This weekend will be another tough round, with the North Canterbury boys taking on new leaders Christchurch Boys High School.

Points: CBHS 46, STAC 45, Christs College 40, Shirley Boys 39, Rangiora High 39, St Bedes 36, St Thomas 33, Nelson College 30, Waimea College 25, Timaru Boys 23, Marlborough Boys 17, Roncalli Aoraki 7, Ashburton Mid Canterbury 6, Lincoln 4.

The Rangiora High School under 15 boys have been in action this weekend too, at the Livestock Tournament in Invercargill. They had a great start to the tournament defeating James Hargest 19-10, Gore 31-28, and Verdon 12-7. However, they were defeated in their final two matches against Central Southland 10-19, and Menzies 7-23.
And it was great to see former Rangiora High School and New Zealand U20 representative, Fletcher Newell, in the Canterbury Rugby team for their defence of the Ranfurly Shield against North Otago, and winning 71-7. In addition to Newell, Kaiapoi's Josh McKay and Hurunui's Luke Romano have been named in the 2020 Canterbury Mitre 10 Cup squad.
