Rangiora women get on the board

The Rangiora division one women’s hockey team have put points on the board, after defeating second placed Marist, 2-1 in the weekend. The men’s team also picked up a 2-1 win over Marist, with goals from John Single and Lachlan Miller. Their win takes them to fifth on the table.
In the Sunday Premiership, the Rangiora women’s Korimako team were defeated 2-8 by HSOB Burnside, and in the Championship grade Piwakawaka were beaten 2-4 by the University of Canterbury Inca. The men’s Championship grade Oddfellows team went down 0-3 to Waikirikiri, and the Colts went down 0-5 to Carlton Redcliffs.
In the Platinum grades, the men’s Rangiora A team won 3-2 against Carlton Redcliffs, while the B’s lost 1-5 to Hornby. In the women’s section, Rangiora A lost 0-8 to Hornby, and the B’s had a draw 1-1 with Hornby.
Midweek the division one women, the Rangiora Hurunui Hares, defeated HSOB Burnside 5-2, and in division three, Hinemoa Kaiapoi Totara went down 0-4 to Avon, and the Rangiora Hawkes were also beaten, 0-2 by Southern. In the men’s grades Hinemoa Kaiapoi Kauri had a blistering 9-1 win over Waikirikiri, and Rangiora One defeated the Allsorts 8-2.
The Kaiapoi High School secondary school girls team had a win 2-1 over Villa Maria in division two.
