Rangiora women overpowered

The Rangiora women’s Premier Hockey team met table leaders Avon at the Waimakariri Turf over the weekend. Whilst the first half was a relatively even affair, it was Avon who were able to convert their chances and take the match 1-4. In the Premier men’s match, the Rangiora team were able to take a highly contested match against Avon, 2-1.

The division 2-3 Rangiora women’s D2 team had no trouble scoring in their match, winning 9-0 over the University of Canterbury Athenians, however the D3 were on the other side of results, losing their match 0-7 to HSOB/Burnside. The Rangiora division 3 men were defeated by Southern, 2-4.

In the midweek matches, the division one Rangiora men’s team drew 3-3 with the Hornby Coyotes, and the Hinemoa Kaiapoi Kauri lost to University of Canterbury Alumni, 1-5. The Rangiora Hurunui division two women’s team defeated Harewood 1-0.

On the grass, the Hinemoa Kaiapoi women’s team had a 3-1 win over Southern.
