The Northern Bulldogs marked the passing of club stalwart Glenn Scott, before their match against the Riccarton Knights at Murphy Park. The match was a battle as the Bulldogs took the lead early with tries to Keeghan Woolley and Ethan Plaskett, and a goal from Josh Endacott. However, by halftime, it was the visitors who had wrestled back the lead, and were up 16-10. The Bulldogs fought with everything they had, and Woolley scored his second deep into the second half, but they couldn’t convert to tie the match up. Riccarton held on for a 16-14 win. Points: Hornby 6, Linwood 6, Celebration 4, Halswell 4, Northern Bulldogs 2, Riccarton 2, Papanui 0, Eastern 0. The Bulldogs reserves had a dominant 68-4 win over the Burnham Chevaliers.
