Tight on the turf

The Rangiora women's hockey team had a tight match at home on the Waimakariri Turf.  They faced top of the group, Marist, and took them all the way. In the end it was the visitors who came away with a 4-3 win.  The division one men did not have a match this weekend, but the men’s division three side defeated University of Canterbury 5-1.
In the Platinum grades, the two Rangiora men's teams faced off in division two, with the Rangiora A team defeating the B’s 6-1. In women’s division two, Hinemoa Kaiapoi Miro defeated Waikirikiri 6-0, and Rangiora A went down to Southern 0-2. And it was a battle of the North Canterbury teams in division three, with Rangiora B gaining bragging rights over Hinemoa Kaiapoi Tawa 4-0

Midweek the division two Hinemoa Kaiapoi Kauri men lost to Hornby 2-7, and Rangiora lost to University of Canterbury 0-2. In the women’s grades, the division one Hinemoa Kaiapoi Tawa lost to University of Canterbury 1-5. It was another local derby in the women’s division two, with Rangiora Hurunui defeating Hinemoa Kaiapoi Totara 2-1.
